How to set up a new baseline sequence?

Category: KPIs

Profit.co provides the option to create a new Baseline Sequence, which can be used as a predefined sequence to create a Baseline KPI key result.

What is the use of this feature?

Profit.co enables you to define sequential steps to find the baseline value for the KPI and later increase, decrease, or control it when dealing with KPI without historical data and when you're unsure of the exact Initial value of the KPI.

Step 1

Navigate to Settings → OKRs → Baseline Sequence.

Step 2

Click on the "Create" button.

For instance, let’s set up the Baseline Sequence to establish a baseline value to establish a customer satisfaction score(CSAT).

Step 3

Enter the name of the sequence. When creating their key results, users will be able to select this new sequence from a list of baseline sequences.

In the Add Baselines section enter the following details,

  • Milestone Name: Enter the name for the sequence. Example Kick off, Initiate process, etc…
  • Incremental %: This means the amount of progress made by completion of the step, expressed in terms of percentage. For example, if you enter 20% for a step, it means that when that step has been executed successfully, it would mean that 20% of the baseline measuring activity is done successfully.
  • Cumulative %: This is a read-only field that is automatically updated by successively adding the incremental % values.

Click Create after bringing the Baselines' cumulative percentage up to 100%.

While creating a new key result with the Baseline KPI, this sequence will be available for the users to select.

You can Edit/ Update the baseline sequence by clicking on Edit in the editing menu.

By selecting Edit, you can edit the Baseline sequence details and rearrange the baseline items by clicking and dragging the three dots to the desired position before each line item.

You can also delete a baseline sequence by clicking on the Delete icon on the right side of the form.

After updating the Baseline Sequence, click on Update.
