How to create an Initiative?

Profit.co provides an option to create a new initiative in the Strategy module.

What is the use of creating a new Initiative?

A Strategic Initiative is to set the right goal to accomplish an organizational objective. Strategic initiatives include milestones, a milestone with a budget and a planned start/end date.

Who will have access to create new Initiatives?

Only Super Users and the Profit users who are the initiators can create initiatives. 

Navigate to Settings → Strategy → Initiatives.

In the settings menu, you can provide access for the users to define Initiatives.

How to create a new Initiative?

Users who have access to Create Initiatives can view the Initiatives tab in the Strategy menu. 

Step 1

Navigate to Strategy → Initiatives from the left navigation menu.

You will be directed to the Initiatives page listing, which has all the available Initiatives. Click on the Create Initiative button to create a new Initiative.

Step 2

The Initiatives creation menu pops up from the right. The Initiative Number will be automatically generated.

Step 3

Enter the Initiative Name in the text box.

In the Assigned Owner input box enter the name of the employee or click on the Magnifier icon to open a dialog box listing all the employees.

Choose the Employee to whom you want to assign the Strategic Initiative that you have created.

In the Assigned Owner input box, click on the search bar to search for an employee by typing the name in the search bar.

You can choose multiple employees to whom you want to assign the Strategic Initiative you created.

In the Search and Select panel, you can search for employees and multi-select them.

Step 4

Choose the Assigned Division by clicking on the drop-down arrow to display the list of available departments.

Choose the Strategic Focus Name by clicking on the drop-down arrow to display the list of available Strategic Focus Names.

Click on the Status drop-down list box to set the status of the Strategic Initiative which you are creating.

Step 5

Choose the Strategic KPIs by clicking on the Strategic KPIs drop-down list box to display the list of available Strategic KPIs.

Note: Multiple Strategic KPIs can be selected.

Select the Category and the Waves for the Initiative.

Note: The waves are used to measure the Initiatives if the period is for a year.

Finally, click on the Create button to create a new Initiative.
