How to add Task Dependencies?

Category: Tasks

Profit.co provides a task dependencies feature for enhanced task management.

Why this feature?

  • This feature helps to improve task coordination, ensures proper sequencing, and enhances overall task management efficiency and effectiveness.
  • This feature promotes accountability and ensures tasks are completed efficiently, reducing delays.

Step 1

Navigate to the Tasks from the left navigation panel and select the task you wish to add dependencies.

Step 2

On the Task overview page, Click on the + Add button to add dependencies.

Then, select the task and click on the Add button.

Note: You will have the option to choose multiple tasks as dependencies.

After that, you'll see the Dependencies icon (indicating Waiting on dependencies or Blocking on dependencies) on the specific tasks.

For instance, consider the task “Identify customer needs and competitive landscape” has been added as a dependency for the task “User Experience and Documentation”.

It means the task “User Experience and Documentation” is Waiting on dependencies, and the task  “Identify customer needs and competitive landscape” is Blocking on dependencies.

Note: You can also add dependencies using the More option on the task board.

When you try to complete a task in the Waiting on dependencies stage, a warning message will appear stating “This task is waiting on another task to be completed. Are you sure you want to complete this task?”.

You can either cancel it or complete it.
