How do I delete a department in Profit.co?

You can delete an existing department in Profit.co via the Settings menu. Once deleted, the department and its related data will be permanently removed.
Why this feature?
- If a department is no longer active or was created by mistake, you can delete it to keep your organizational structure clean and up to date.
- This helps maintain accurate reporting and avoids confusion in department-based alignments.
Note: Only Super Users have the permission to delete departments in Profit.co.
Step 1:
Navigate to Settings → User Management from the left navigation panel and switch to the Departments tab.
Step 2:
Click the delete icon corresponding to the department you want to delete.
A confirmation pop-up will appear, simply click the Delete button to proceed.
Note: The deleted department cannot be restored.
Step 3:
If a department has sub-departments, you must delete all the sub-departments first before deleting the parent department.
When you try to delete such a department, a confirmation pop-up will appear with an alert message: “This department has # sub-departments. Please delete all sub-departments before deleting this.”
Only after removing all associated sub-departments will you be able to delete the parent department.
