How can the status of my key result be "Completed" even when my progress is only 50%?
Category: OKRs
In the OKR world, there are two key factors that need to be checked in regularly to assess progress and confidence:
1. Actual progress on the tracked KPI (Key Performance Indicator):
This is represented by the "Value" field, which indicates how much progress has been made toward the target. This is shown visually in the form of a slider bar.
As you update the "Value" field, you are essentially updating the actual performance or progress made toward the Key Result. This is a quantitative measurement that reflects the current status of the KPI.
2. Confidence about achieving the target by the specified time:
This is represented by the drop-down menu in the status field, where you can select your level of confidence in meeting the target within the specified timeline. One of the options available in this menu is "Completed," but selecting this does not automatically move the slider to 100%.
The important point here is that progress and confidence are treated independently. The "Completed" status in the drop-down does not imply that the target has been fully achieved (i.e., the slider won't automatically show 100%). It is up to the user to update the slider and status separately based on their judgment.
