Improve Social Media Branding
In this video, we’re going to write an OKR to “Improve Social Media Branding”. Social Media is a relatively new tool– and it seems that every year, there’s a new platform available for utilization by Marketing Departments. Improving the social media-specific branding of a company could be the key to wider name recognition and increased website traffic. Centering an OKR around social media branding covers an important facet of the marketing department’s duties. Such an important objective requires impactful and specific key results to measure it.
The key results that could help measure this objective are:
- Increase Twitter positive mentions from 80 to 150
- Increase number of customer persona videos for Youtube from 4 to 10
Increase engagement through LinkedIn, Twitter, and Youtube from 15% to 50%
Let’s add this OKR into the Profit.co software. After inputting your Objective, create the first key result using the form. Title this key result– “Increase engagement through LinkedIn, Twitter, and Youtube from 15% to 50%”– and select the target date for completing this key result.
Because this key result includes a percentage we would like to increase, we’ll select “Increase KPI” from the key result type drop down menu. Then, you can either browse KPIs by category by pressing the magnifying glass, or typing in the KPI to the search bar and selecting from the suggestions menu.
Adjust your KPI values to your specifications– in this case, we’ll set the starting percentage as 15%, and the target percentage at 50%.
Then, determine if you’d like to assign this key result to any particular department or employee, and select the frequency with which you would like to complete check-ins.
Then, press “Create”.
Now you have a key result that targets a highly impactful component of improving social media branding. Here are the other key results that can help with this objective–
Developing specific and impactful key results for your Objectives will set you on the right path to making real progress within your organization, and in ensuring that you set measurable steps to achieving your goal, you can make substantial progress on your goals for the Marketing department.
