What Is the Associate Objectives Feature?
Associate Objectives is the action on an initiative's overview page in Strategy Roadmaps that links existing OKRs to that initiative. Once an objective is linked, it and its key results appear in the Associate Objectives list on the initiative.
The selection panel groups OKRs into three tabs: Individuals' OKRs, your organization's OKRs, and Selected OKRs. You link objectives that already exist here; the panel does not create new OKRs.
Why Does Linking Initiatives to OKRs Matter?
Without a link, an initiative and the OKRs meant to measure it sit on separate pages, so no one viewing the initiative can see whether the underlying work is moving the objective.
After you associate an objective, its Project Tracked key result and that key result's progress appear on the initiative overview, so the initiative shows a measurable result tied to the PPM project doing the work.
How Do I Associate Objectives to an Initiative?
Prerequisite
Create the objective's key result using the Project Tracked option before you link, so the initiative ties to a PPM project.
- Go to Strategy Roadmaps → Initiatives.
- Select the initiative you want to link OKRs to.
- On the initiative overview page, locate the Associate Objectives section.
- Click + Add to open the selection panel.
- Open the Individuals' OKRs or your organization's OKRs tab.
- Check the box next to each objective you want to link.
- Review your choices in the Selected OKRs tab.
- Click Add.

- Check the Selected OKRs tab before clicking Add, so an objective picked from the wrong tab is caught before it is linked.
- Set the objective's key result name and target clearly before linking, because that key result's progress is what represents the initiative's outcome on the overview page.
