Enable in Settings
Go to Settings → Integrations → Connectors, select the User Level tab, and enable the GitLab toggle. Only Super Users can activate integrations — check with your Profit.co admin if the option isn’t visible.

Connect with your Access Token
Go to Preferences → Integrations → GitLab Manage → Connect to GitLab. Enter a Connection Name, select Cloud or Self-Hosted, and paste your GitLab personal access token. Use read_api, read_user, and read_repository permissions when generating the token.

Map it to a Key Result
Edit any Key Result, check Automate Check-ins, and select GitLab. Choose your Project or Group, then filter by issues, assignee, or status. Profit.co pulls live issue data on every check-in from that point forward.

Yes. The Profit.co and GitLab integration is built directly into the Profit.co platform. You connect using a GitLab personal access token — no third-party middleware is required. Both Cloud and Self-Hosted GitLab environments are supported.
Yes. Once connected, select Automate Check-in on any Key Result and choose GitLab. Profit.co pulls the latest issue count or completion percentage from your selected project or group on every check-in. Automatic daily check-ins also run at 09:00 AM in your user timezone.
Profit.co reads issues from your GitLab projects and groups, filtered by status, assignee, and plan type (Epics or Milestones for group-level connections). Issue counts and open/closed states calculate OKR key result progress across all supported KPI types.
The GitLab integration supports four key result types: Percentage Tracked, Increase KPI, Decrease KPI, and Control KPI. These cover common engineering OKR scenarios including bug reduction, issue closure rates, epic delivery tracking, and feature completion milestones.

No. Setup takes under 10 minutes and requires no code. You need a GitLab personal access token (generated with read_api, read_user, and read_repository permissions) and Super User access in Profit.co to enable the connector.
Yes. The GitLab integration is configured at the User Level, meaning each team member can connect their own GitLab account to track their individual key results independently. A Super User enables the connector once; individual users configure their own connections from there.
