How to add a new Employee in Profit.co?
Follow these steps to add a new employee in Profit.co:
Step 1
- From the left navigation panel, go to Settings → User Management.
- On the Active Users page, click on + Create User to begin creating a new employee profile.

Note: You can disable the auto-generation of User ID by navigating to Settings → User Management → Number Generation.
Step 2
- On the Create User page, fill in the Personal Information of the new employee including name, email, job title, and grade.
- Enter the department details and select the employee's primary department and reporting manager.

Note: You can also assign Cross-Functional Departments to the user, these indicate additional departments the user collaborates with beyond their primary department, helping reflect cross-department contributions more accurately in the system.
- In the Profit Access Information section, select the appropriate Role and Proxy User for the employee.
- Once all details are filled in, click Create.

Note:
- You can click the + Add Role button to assign app-specific roles to the user.
- You can assign department-specific privileges directly under the Department-Level Privileges section. Use OKR Champion for to select departments where the user acts as OKR Champion and Check-in User for to select departments where the user can check in on OKRs.
- A single user can be assigned across multiple departments at once using the searchable department list.

Step 3: Verify the newly added Employee in Active Users
- Once created, the newly added employee will appear in the Active Users list under User Management.
- Verify that all details, roles, and department assignments are correctly reflected in the employee's profile.

- Ensure licenses are available before adding new users to avoid interruptions during onboarding.
- Assign the correct Role at the time of creation to ensure the employee has the appropriate level of access from day one.
