I want to give more weightage to a key result in an objective and how to measure OKR progress based on the key results weightage?
Category: OKRs
Navigate to Settings → OKRs → Authoring from the left navigation panel.
Switch to the Key Results tab and enable the toggle Allow users to define weights for key results within an OKR.
Note: Only Super Users can enable this toggle.

Select the Objective name for which you want to set the weightage and go to the Overview menu.
Note: These weightage settings are not teams, departments, or employee-specific. This setting applies to all the OKRs in the organization.
Profit.co allows you to add weight for key results on the overview page manually. It's one desire to add weights to the key results that help the Team, Department or Individual prioritize and focus on the OKRs. Consequently aids the users in tracking the progress of their OKRs based on the weightage calculation.
Let’s assign the weights to the key results. As the objective has three key results, the weightage should be divided accordingly, such that the total weight calculated does not exceed 100%.
Click the weighing scale icon and,
- For the KR Decrease Churn Rate from 15% to 5%, enter the weight as 0.3.
- For the KR Decrease the average resolution time for customers from 120 mins to 30 mins for L1 and L2 issues, enter the weight as 0.2.
- For the KR Increase the number of reviews in the online platform (Capterra, G2) from 30 to 45, and enter the weight as 0.5.
If the total weight exceeds the whole number 100%, then you will be alerted with the alert icon![]()

After setting the key result weight (Total weight equals 100%):
The overall progress of the objective Delight the customers is calculated as follows:
Objective = [(Key Result progress 1 x Key Result weightage 1) + (Key Result progress 2 x Key Result weightage 2) +......... (Key Result progress n x Key Result weightage n)]
|
Decrease Churn Rate from 15% to 5%.
|
0.13 x 30% = 3.9 | |
|
Decrease the average resolution time for customers from 120 minutes to 30 minutes for L1 and L2 issues.
|
0.40 x 20% = 8 | |
|
Increase the number of reviews in the online platform (Capterra, G2) from 30 to 45.
|
0.10 x 50% = 5 | |
| Total progress of the objective | (3.9 + 8 + 5) = 16.9% ≃ 17% |

You can also distribute weightage to Sub Key Results.
