Category: OKRs

When you set an annual objective and want to create key results, you may have a question on how the quarterly OKRs can support and contribute to the annual objective.

Why this Feature?

In Profit.co we can set the quarterly key results which increase the progress of an Annual Objective.

FYI - For instance, if we are creating the OKR in Q1 2022 and you have created a key result with a target for Q2 2022. You can’t be able to progress the key result.

Key results for next quarter = New relevant key results + Previous quarter's key Results that are not achieved, but still relevant with new targets - Unachieved irrelevant previous quarters key results.

Should it be created as a:

    • Separate individual quarterly objectives and aligned with the annual objective.
    • As a quarterly key result under an annual objective.

For instance, let’s say, David Griffin, is the CEO of a company that specializes in ERP for small and medium enterprises.

He creates his annual objective to Increase revenue to a higher level while improving profitability. He also has a goal to increase sales growth in the EMEA region by Q3 2022.

So, Instead of creating a separate individual OKR, we can create the key result to Achieve $2 Million in sales growth in the EMEA region as a quarterly key result under the objective.

Then assign the key result to an individual employee/team/department. In this case, we assign this to the sales team.

This key result is assigned as a quarterly objective to the sales team and as the sales team makes progress and check-in, it will propagate upwards to David Griffin’s objective.

Here you can see how annual objectives with quarterly key results will progress throughout the year.

You can also use the following method to come up with the key results for the upcoming quarter.
